Concept Statement
The design for the Marolo-Q residence explores the idea that opposites attract. The male resident is a prominent business owner - in a wheelchair, while the female partner is a burlesque dance.
The design cuts into the theory behind electromagnetism to create a space that attracts two opposites. The theory states that when two opposite magnetic fields come together, they create an electric current based on the motion of electric charges. This becomes the primary design inspiration to create an environment that reflects both as equal.
The theory of electromagnetism is implemented into the layout of the space, carefully dictating the placement of rooms, furniture, and other elements; as well as the aesthetics of the space.
