Concept Statement
The Exeter Residence is the union of two studio units into one to accomodate a family that is involved in Children’s artwork.
The design for the Exeter Residence creates an environment that highlights the unique, playful nature of the residents, and translates it into a design that still retains maturity.
Through the theories of the Modernists, primarily ‘Form Follows Function,’ the two spaces are combined to accomodate the family and their needs.

Elevation

In Elevation, both central locations are perfectly aligned vertically. The top, public floor has the kitchen and bar area as the datum, where the other elements of the floor are taken from. The lower, private floor has the workstation as a reflection of upstair’s datum location.
The interactive wall explores music as a design elements. It provides a combination of entertainment, mood, lighting, and a break from the verticality of the spaces.
